Using Service Documents
- Service Documents:
- Designed to provide a way to do something like make a payment or submit a form
- Can appear in service portlet, a custom portlet, and the all services list
- Can either be stand-alone or link to another page (internal or external)
- Where Created:
- In department sub-folder 'services'
- Publishing a service document in the services folder makes it appear in its selected category/categories in the all services list
- To appear in the department's services portlet, go to the department's navigation/services folder, add a link to the service, and publish the link.
- You can also possibly create a custom portlet (see separate documentation) that link to services. You might want to do this is you have a special group of services you want to highlight.
- Where public sees:
- In all services list under selected category/categories. From here, if service contains a link to another page, the link will go to the target link.
- In the services portlet if linked in navigation/services folder. From here, the link will go to the service regardless of whether it links to another page. Both the link and the service must be published to show up in the portlet.
- In a custom portlet if a custom portlet is created with link to service. Both the link and the service must be published to show up in the portlet.
