Installing Open-eGov and other AddOn products used by Open-eGov
These instructions are for installing the Open-eGov product and associated products in a Linux environment.
We run our system on Linux with Pound as a load balancer for two instances of Zope and Squid as a cache manager.
- These instructions assume you have installed Plone and Zope and have a Plone site created. You will need to know the Administrative username and password that was created when your Plone site was built and the path (we refer to the path in these instructions as yourpath) on your server to the Plone directory of your Plone site.
- Copy the following products located in the addons folder to the yourpath/Plone/Products folder:
- AddRemoveWidget, v. 1.0

- ATVocabularyManager, v. 1.1-beta

- Unzip TextIndexNG3.tgz to yourpath/zope/lib/python/site-packages
- For Plone to know where to find the new eGov products you need to change the zope.conf file as follows:
- Locate the zope.conf file, located at yourpath/Plone/Data/etc/
- Open zope.conf with a text editor
- Locate the line '# products $INSTANCE/Products'
- Change the line to: 'products $INSTANCE/Products/eGov'
- Save zope.conf file
- For the changes to zope.conf to take affect you need to restart Zope.
- To Navigate to the Zope Management Interface (ZMI), do this:
- xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the ip address of the linux box
- yoursitename is the name you gave to your Plone install
- In a browser window enter: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080/yoursitename/manage. You will need to provide the username and password you created when installing Plone.
